HP Terminal Update

I've since repaired the CRT, replaced the TAB key with a similar TAB key from a basket case Diablo terminal, and repainted the case. There is an "avocado"color of cheap, generic spray paint available at Home Depot that comes very close to matching the color of this and quite a bit of 1970's equipment.

The case repairs were done with the magic "plumber's epoxy" that I've used on so many projects. It anchors the CRT in the case, and many of the threaded inserts that had been broken in shipping. It was even used to replace a chipped case corner, and the resulting repair is absolutely undetectable.

I'm actually afraid to describe how I repaired the CRT for liability reasons. Let's just say it involved building a wooden box to contain the CRT, a nichrome wire obtained from a hobby store usually used in cutting foam, an AT power supply, some homemade handles, a razor blade, acetone, aquarium RTV sealer, and a certain amount of guts. The results below speak for themselves (see picture in previous page).

This terminal will be a great match for an 8080 computer I'm building.
